Monday morning, American Eagle Gold (TSX-V:AE, OTC: AMEGF) reported drill results for 5 holes from 2024 drilling at the company’s flagship NAK Copper-Gold Porphyry Project in the Babine Region of British Columbia, Canada. Notably, hole 24-28 intercepted 144 meters grading .90% copper-equivalent from surface:
One sentence in the second paragraph of the news release really stood out to me:
“Future drilling will aim to add to both the size of the system and to further delineate higher-grade nearer-surface parts, with an immediate goal of better understanding and tracking out the newly discovered, visually rich mineralization encountered in some of our latest drill holes in the north (NAK24-33, -35, -37, and -38), to extend the system to the northeast.”
AE even included a map focused on the latest holes (pending assays) in the Copper Enriched North Zone:
All this talk about the North Zone prompted me to do a Zoom update call with the American Eagle team on Tuesday afternoon – being able to query the CEO, Lead Geologist, and savvy veteran technical advisor on the same call was a real gift.
I felt the call with the AE team was positive, and like many, I am fascinated by the findings in holes 33, 35, 37, and 38. In particular, I liked Charlie’s comments about the “disseminated bornite” in hole 33 and the “real volume of this very exciting mineralization….there’s bornite all through this huge, huge volume of mineralization.”
I am eagerly awaiting the remaining results from 2024 drilling at NAK – assays are pending for 11 holes totaling more than 8,000 meters of drilling.
