Dude, how do you do what you do? This is by far the most common question I get from people upon returning from an adventure. People generally want to know how to travel and experience cool stuff; traveling the world is to some degree on everyone’s bucket list.
When you are traveling and on adventures people talk about you, they share your pictures, they live vicariously through you. You are awesome, you are something exciting to talk about. Here is why.
1. Live a life without regrets.
The most common regrets among Americans is “I wish I didn’t work so hard,” and “I wish I had let myself be true to myself.” If you dream of traveling the world and experiencing adventure, be true to yourself. I promise there will be plenty of time to work, don’t let the opportunity pass you by. Take that risk you won’t regret missing a week of work to capture an experience of a lifetime!
2. Learn a new skill
Traveling has a lot of down time if you allow it. I say make the most of it. If you are in China take Chinese classes, trust me people think this is really awesome. If you are in Nicaragua, take surf lessons. Where ever you are take full advantage of your time, become well rounded, be that guy/gal who has done it all. Live life fully expressed, make mistakes, fall down and get back up with a huge smile and be grateful for every experience.
3. Have friends all over the planet
I live in South Florida and I love it here, its home. And I can tell you having friends all over is incredible. Getting to know different cultures and ways of living. In Hong Kong, for example, on your birthday, you buy all your friends drinks. Or in Moscow, they celebrate our Christmas tradition on Jan 1st. You get to be apart of this. Not to mention you’ll always have cool places to stay when you want to travel again.
4. You’ll be the life of the party
While at a party would you rather listen to someones drama sharing about a coworker or get others engaged in excitement about your adventure. Talk about what it was like to ride ATV’s through the jungle while on a scavenger hunt in Nicaragua? People much rather hear what you have to say. Be interesting, they will thank you.
5. You’ll have similar like minded friends
While you are telling your amazing stories at a party it is likely to meet others who have had similar experiences. It is the best ice breaker. Get to know them, they are just as excited to share with you. Some of my best relationships began this way. You will be surrounded with other people who travel the world, do cool stuff and live life to the fullest.
Get traveling my friends, life is meow!
