Ray Dalio is one of the most successful hedge fund managers in history. This year at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland Dalio sat down with motivational/self-empowerment guru Tony Robbins and the result was a more than eighty minute interview (edited) that produced a cornucopia of wisdom. Here are some of our favorite sound bites and a link to the interview:

“In order to make money in the markets you have to see something that the consensus doesn’t see, so you have to have an independent point of view.”

“Meaningful work and meaningful relationships are what matter to me.”

“Man is a relatively new species, only about 200,000 years old.”

“It is very important that in that global world we (Americans) emphasize good ways of being, not overdo the Americanism part relative to the “what is the good way of being?”
